possible to disable "Smart Network Power" ?
We are having issues with the new Win7 power saving feature called Smart network power. We have some cases where the card is disabled and no longer showing in device manager but then never showing back up once reconnected to a network cable. I would like to just totally disable it removing/powering off our network devices ever but cannot locate a way to do this. It does not appear under advanced power options nor does the allow computer to power off this device setting in device manager work. Anyone know how to do this?

No way to disable it. You may upgrade the BIOS and the network adapter driver to try to resolve this issue.Arthur Xie - MSFT

Hi, no solution in sight for this problem? I have the same issue with a brand new machine (Dell xps 430), all drivers are current and windows 7 ultimate 64bit fresh and clean installed. After some time of standby (hibernation is deactivated) the system wakes up as normal but is unable to activate the network adapter, only a reboot brings it back to life.

Seriously? All drivers and bios's are up to date yet we still having this problem randomly. We have it on one laptop and not on another of the same brand and settings even. Seems silly to force this onto people. Let us decide if we want to be uber green..
